Aveda Winnipeg

Born to Style Scholarship Has a Winner

A few months ago I wrote about Aveda’s Born to Style Scholarship contest.  Earlier this week, Aveda Institute Winnipeg announced the winner at their amazing gala event that I unfortunately missed due to previously scheduled commitments.  Special thanks to Lisa Saunders for providing the pics and links for this post!

Huge congratulations to Amy Sidoryk who won a full scholarship worth $10,000 to attend Aveda’s Winnipeg hairstyling school. Finalists had just a few hours to style their two models in couture and ready-to-wear looks. As you can see, the creativity was outstanding!

Aveda had a number of celebrity judges analyzing the models’ looks, including Aveda Canada CEO & President Ray Civello, Citytv Breakfast Television host Jenna Khan and Winnipeg Fashion Incubator representative Zanna Joyce. Hosting the event was Winnipeg’s own Kristjan Hayden, whom you may recognize as a beauty expert on CBC’s daytime lifestyle program, Steven and Chris. Hayden was also recently appointed as Creative Director for AVEDA Canada – a huge honour!
