Raise Your Voice for Women’s Healthcare #WCHFRaiseURVoice

In less than a week it will be 3 whole months since my mom passed away suddenly  from breast cancer. 3 whole months! More than ever before I have adopted a bias for action as it relates to my health and the health of my family. It is paramount in my life right now.

I have been diligent about seeing my doctor and requesting early detection screening for myself. My health has never been so important, as I couldn’t imagine my children or fiance having to suddenly live without me because of something I possibly could have prevented or at least held at bay.

There is a wonderful campaign happening right now to help raise funds for the future of healthcare for women through the Women’s College Hospital Foundation.

Women’s College Hospital Foundation is dedicated to supporting Women’s College Hospital as it revolutionizes health care for women.

The campaign is called Raise Your Voice!

#WCHFRaiseUrVoice

The WCHF has teamed up with Canadian singing sensation, Avril Lavigne to create a cover song of “Keep Holding On’ featuring the voices of Canadians across the country. The remixed song has been released on iTunes, and the proceeds from every download go toward supporting the Women’s College Hospital.

As a mother of two growing daughters, it is my duty to ensure that they are aware of the importance of their own health as young women. An easy way to do create that awareness is through music and this campaign is a perfect fit! For only $1.29, download the remixed version of Keep Holding On and be a part of this amazing worthwhile cause!

Enjoy the music, support the cause!

  1. I am sorry about your Mum. It is hard when your parents die young. My Dad died in 2013 two months after my son was born.

I think that’s great that Avril supports the cause.

  2. What a great cause. I am glad that others like Avril our standing behind it as well. Life can change health wise in an instant. We also found this out when out of the blue my husband was diagnosed with an acute form of leukemia.
