Help Support MusiCounts with Lights and Menchie’s

Do you love music?

Do you love frozen yogurt?

Do you want to help support music education?

If your answer is yes to all of the above, you will be happy to know that there is a super fun initiative happening this week!

Lights - Fundraiser

On March 11, JUNO Award winning artist, Lights is mixing it up with Menchie’s Frozen Yogurt to raise some dough “money” to support MusiCounts, a charity that puts musical instruments into the hands of Canadian kids that need them most.

When the JUNO’s were in Winnipeg last year, I was blessed to attend an event where I was able to listen to and meet two local Winnipeg performers: a) Broadway Neighbourhood Hip Hop Academy and b) Status 4 Inc. Both of these groups were the recipients of the 2013 MusiCounts Community Grant program.

MusiCounts provides numerous programs and scholarships aimed at keeping music alive in communities and schools across Canada.

How do Lights and Menchie’s match up for this initiative?

Well, as you know Lights is a JUNO award winning artist and she’s partnered up with Menchie’s to make her own signature flavour called “Up We Dough,” a cookie dough flavour that was created for Lights in recognition of her hit single “Up We Go.

With the help of Lights, many Canadian children will gain access to music education and the many benefits that come with it. By giving these children the chance to develop their musical talents, Lights and Menchie’s are fulfilling the mission of creating smiles and happiness.

Do you want to help support this initiative too?

It’s pretty simple, just head on over to your local Menchie’s on Wed March 11, 2015, and buy yourself a frozen yogurt because 20% of all sales that day will be donated to MusiCounts!

I’m positive the folks at MusiCounts, Menchie’s and Lights herself would appreciate it.

Share away!
