Kids, Chores, Office, Oh My! HP Can Help You #OrganizeYourLife

It is no secret that I have a very busy household. I have 3 children in 3 different age brackets, all with varying extracurricular activities and craziness. Let’s not forget our much bigger custom built house that requires constant cleaning thanks in part to those 3 children. Oh yea, and I blog and do tax preparation for several family members in addition to my full time job. Do you sense a need for a little organization in my life? I do and so does HP!

I am super lucky that the folks from HP want to help me get my act together with the HP #OrganizeYourLife campaign. Even though they can’t send me a house-cleaning service, nanny, or perhaps my own clone, they did send me an HP Photosmart 7520 e-All-In-One printer and supplies to at least start getting organized.

As you can see in the pic above, I already own a nice lil HP printer (Deskjet 3510) and it’s great for the basic functions we need as a family. However, right out of the box I could see that the HP Photosmart 7520 is a beast! It has a very professional look! Setup was very cool, and yes I mean that, it probably helps that I’m a techie/gadget girl. There’s a touchscreen display that shows you mini videos of how to install cartridges, paper etc. Unfortunately my printer setup disc was damaged but it was easy to get online and download the necessary software  and I actually preferred doing that.

If I could give one suggestion for improvement though, it’s somehow decreasing the noise that it makes during ‘Printer Preparation’. Honestly, it scared me, it sounded like I jammed a stapler in there, and I literally jumped out of my chair haha

To start, my first organizing job was my office/desk area in our lower level. Looked slightly junky, had no calendars or anything just papers and a lot of “stuff’. Snapfish is a wonderful online design portal of checklists, calendars and other easy to use printables for your home, school, or business. I couldn’t wait to check them out.

Now our office/desk area has been transformed thanks to a few great printables: calendar, weekly planner and to-do list!

Let’s also take a look at our lil “what’s going on” family communication area. I’ve written about how this area helps our family to get organized before but now I can step it up a notch thanks to some of the great templates on SnapFish.  The most important item we needed was a chore list. We need a visual way for these children to get more involved with cleaning! I found the perfect printable for us, it’s bold and bright like our family!  I also chose a meal planning list because my fiance and I need to be on the same page as to what’s on the menu each week.

Looks much better, right?! Super easy to print and the quality is pretty amazing. Now the key is to get the tween and teen using this regularly!

Clearly I’m a fan of this printer and I haven’t even scratched the surface with its numerous features. Be sure to check out HP on Facebook to stay updated on their products and services.

Next up for me? Let’s see if this printer lives up to its namesake of being PhotoSmart. I’ll be printing photos! Stay tuned!
