The math does not add up. One standard hotel room. Two double beds. Three kids, and two parents.

One mom and one kid in one bed. One dad and two kids in the other?

One mom and one dad in one bed. Three kids in the other?

One dad and one kid in one bed. Two kids in the other. One mom on a cot?

All it equals is toes in ribs, fingers in noses, arguments started, punishments threatened, and lost hours of sleep.

Have you thought about a vacation rental?

You can have your own room. They can have theirs. Fresh, hot coffee in the morning from the kitchen and a quick, healthy breakfast for all. A living room to relax in, maybe even more than one bathroom. A backyard? A cold beer after all that sight-seeing/day at the beach/endless amusement park rides.

Priceless.

BetterThanAHotel_400Actually, probably for less than you’d pay for that hotel room with thin walls, cramped quarters, and pricey room service.

Really. Vacation rentals work for families.

Don’t be overwhelmed by the searching and selection process. Jot down a few thoughts about what you’re looking for, ask yourself a few questions, just spend a little bit of time preparing and you can find the perfect vacation rental for your family.

Great article, when you stay somewhere that has a kitchen you can prepare some of your own meals . That saves us a lot of money. We know a lot of people who love vacation rentals.
