Hanging with the ladies from work at lunch is a weekly necessity. When you work in a sedentary job, and in a city that has claimed the worst winter ever, being able to get out of the office to hang with each other is importantThe ability to freely interact with each other over lunch to catch up on our busy lives is always a good time!
We talk about local events, crazy office stories and generally what’s up or happening in our individual worlds. We’ve even had a discussion like this one:

Here we are at our latest lunch adventure – Wendy’s!
Renee, Natasha and Kyle (he’s totally one of the girls) are the most fun lunch pals, we are always rowdy and laughing up a storm! We have a different spot to check out each week and try to make sure we don’t go to the same place in a month. From burgers to sandwiches to Asian to Italian, we are always game to try something new for lunch.
Recently, we decided to check out Wendy’s new lineup of salads. I’m not normally one to have just a salad because I’m all about meat but these new salads have enough variety to satisfy the pickiest palate. After all, 30 years ago, Wendy’s was the first restaurant to offer a salad bar to their customers.
The new Wendy’s salads bring a different vibe to their menu, each flavour is bold and the salads incorporate new ingredients like edamame and cashews, which are great surprises!
Thankfully there were enough of us that we were each able to choose a different salad so that we could try them all out at the same time.
It was very apparent that the salads are made fresh to order every day, the Taco Supremo salad had fresh chili and each of the BBQ Ranch Chicken and Asian Cashew Chicken salads both had warm tender fresh chicken as well. Nice to see that the meat was 100% premium all white chicken breast meat, nothing gummy or formed.
Even with a healthy portion of meat in addition to the savoury dressings, these salads are 50% lower in fat, 29& lower in sodium and 61% lower in saturated fat.
We all ordered full size salads but half sizes are also offered if you’re looking for more of a snack.
I personally ordered the Asian Cashew Chicken Salad because I saw the words spicy more than once! I love spicy foods; perhaps it’s the Jamaican heritage! The best part about this salad was the spicy roasted cashews; they add the perfect little kick to this salad.
Unfortunately, I wasn’t able to truly experience this salad as it was meant to be eaten because they had run out of the Asian Chili Vinaigrette dressing so I had to eat it with Pomegranate . It still tasted great but I’m sure if it was paired with the Asian dressing, it would’ve been amazing. I guess this means I have another reason to go back and try it again!
The BBQ Ranch Chicken Salad was awesome as well, and it didn’t even really need the Ranch dressing because it also has a honey BBQ sauce and it had a sweet smoky taste.
The Taco Supremo Salad was indeed supreme and loaded with Wendy’s famous chili. Throw in a few crunchy taco chips and your taste buds are transformed into a Mexican fiesta!
Super yummy looking right? Well they were yummy tasting too! Go and catch up with your girlfriends over one of these awesome salads at a Wendy’s near you. Just in case my pictures and descriptions weren’t enough, vist the Wendy’s YouTube channel. to learn more about salads and to see more salad chat.

I love Wendy’s salads. They are so filling and yummy.
I really enjoy Wendy’s salads, and I don’t mind eating at fast foods when they have delicious tasting salads, and one that will please hubby too, like the Taco Supreme Salad!
I love wendys salads. Theyre always tasty. Im sure I could make it, but its just easier when someone else does
I am quite fond of the salads at Wendy’s as well. I try to eat a salad every day during the week at home. On the weekend I don’t want to see them. Wendy’s would be one of those special salad days (I would ask my husband to pick one up for me). Plain salad is boring. I like to top it with chicken and seeds, ham and cheese, or perhaps canned salmon or tuna. One of my favorite salads at Wendy’s is their Taco salad.
There aren’t many Wendy’s restaurants left in my city. But fortunately, I just got a new job a few months back within walking distance to one of the only Wendy’s left. And the salads are soooo good. It’s the perfect lunch item, delicious & filling!
I like these new salads just a little bit spicy for me though
wait..Taco Supremo salad? i’m so there.
those look like quite filling salads
I tried the Asian Cashew Chicken salad and it is my new favorite! It is too bad you didn’t get to try the dressing because that is the best part!
Yummy, I love Wendys but it seems like most of them have closed down in our area.
I love Wendy’s salads and can’t wait to try the new flavours, especially the Asian Chicken, but then the BBQ Chicken looks so good too..yummy!!!
