Alright folks, if you live in Winnipeg and didn’t know that our fine city is hosting the 2014 Juno Awards this upcoming weekend, I ask you: Where the heck have you been?!?

Winnipeg is already buzzing with excitement about hosting this amazing event again! I tried to get lunch at a local restaurant last Friday and was told the Juno committee had ‘taken over’, haha what exactly does that mean? Well, it means that there’s a lot pf preparation behind the scenes to ensure that this event goes off without a hitch. After all, it is the 43rd annual Junos and we are centre stage for all of Canada (and the world) to see!

I tried my darndest to be one of the local accredited media attending the events this week, considering I actually live here and you know I’m kinda fun, but alas I was unsuccessful. It’s all good though, I will do my best to capture the essence of the Junos at whatever events I can get to on my own even if it’s waaaaay at the back hahaha!

The official Juno week events start today with a mixture of lead-up events major sponsored events and ends with the live broadcast of the awards show on CTV Sunday March 30, 2014, at 8PM CT.

Winnipeg is overflowing with amazing local talent and events that will be showcased this week. I hope to sneak away and enjoy as many as I can, and so should you!

One event that isn’t on the official lists, but one I plan on checking out this weekend, is the Bacardi Urban Music Fest presented by Cazadores Tequila on Saturday March 29, 2014 at LIV in the Exchange.

Featuring Live Performances from Len Bowen, John Sy and a special performance from Montreal’s Kaila

Dj Sets by Montreal’s #1 Club Dj – DJ Majess alongside Winnipeg Red Bull Finalist Jamil the Dj playing your favorite Old School, Hip Hop, R&B, EDM, Reggae and House!

This is “The Party” to attend Juno Weekend – Hosted By Malik Shaheed at LIV in the Exchange

Doors open at 9pm so Arrive Early to avoid the line!!

VIP Booths Available with Bottles of Bacardi & Grey Goose starting at $100

Tickets:
$10 In Advance
$15 at the Door

Order tickets via Eventbrite:

Woohoo, I’m ready to shake a foot, how about you?

Would you like to win a couple of tickets to the Bacardi Urban Music Fest on Saturday?

It’s easy, all you have to do is tell me (in the comment section below) where will the Junos be held in 2015 AND who won the 2013 Juno award for Rap Recording of the Year? (hint: he’s also one of this year’s co-hosts)

A winner will be randomly chosen Thursday March 27/14 at noon.

Good luck, and see you around during Juno week! 😉

  1. Does Winnipeg always host the Juno’s? I bet that Bacardi event was tons of fun. I haven’t been to anything like that in years.
