Are you ready to listen to an established talented Canadian singer-songwriter who exhibits a sweetness to her powerful voice?
I know I was ready, and I’m so glad I listened!
Christina Martin is no stranger to the music industry and has quite the following here in Canada and in Europe. Her recent album release on Feb 24, 2015, titled “It’ll Be Alright”, is a catchy pop rock album that covers her life experiences, many that I connect with on a personal level.
Produced by her longtime collaborator Dale Murray, the album finds Martin building on her already stellar reputation within the Americana field with a more dynamic sonic approach. According to pop wunderkind Rich Aucoin, It’ll Be Alright “feels like I’m listening to Stevie Nicks filtered through the modern production and energy of an indie guitar toting powerhouse band like Phoenix or Spoon.”
The opportunity to interview Christina Martin was one I could NOT pass up! After finally deciding on an evening to have the interview, Christina and I got our Skype on and had a blast chatting with each other.
To be honest I think we had a little too much fun because the raw uncut interview was over an hour long! Don’t get me wrong, we did have a few hiccups including interruptions from both a dog and a toddler, but we made it through and I KNOW you will enjoy listening to our conversation as much as I enjoyed having it.
Such a fun interview right? I think we did more laughing than talking! Well, now I have a couple of questions for you!

she has a really pretty voice, i also really like that the music isn’t ‘Pop’.
I hadn’t listened to Christina Martin but I really like It’ll be Alright. I think I as most woman can relate to being unable to resist love. I’ve done things for love that I wouldn’t have done for anything else! Great, catchy song that I enjoyed very much!
I don’t believe I have heard of Christina before. But I like the jazzy feel to it and she has a lovely voice. Will have to check out other songs by her.
I heard a very distinctive emotion laden voice.

I’ve personally never heard of Christina before. I have to say though I did enjoy it! I found her song to be catchy and fun. I can see myself doing the Housework dance while cleaning 😉
I like her voice and the song has a catchy sound. I enjoyed listening to it.
I hadn’t heard of Christina Martin before, but she kind of reminds me of Loreena McKennitt. Now I’m looking for some more.
Christina has a lovely voice. Thanks for introducing her music to us. I’m definitely going to give more of her tracks a try.
Has a catchy, story telling voice and song! I had never heard of her before ! Thanks for the review on a great Canadian talent!
she sounds unique – someone that’s not afraid to showcase her creativity
She sounds like a storyteller which is something I appreciate in an artist.
Sounds like an edgy song, girl powerish. She has a nice voice!
This is the first I’ve heard of her, but really like the song. Glad I listened 🙂
I really enjoyed it. I love that it’s a meaningful song but I still found myself bobbing to the beat.
Catchy and story telling- Will make the gym list on my ipod for sure~
A great beat, kind of reminds me of Britney Soears dance music that’ll get me moving! She’s really down to earth, and what a great interview, as you really get to see the depth of her. Good for her to help with charities as well!
I thought the song was good slightly Joni Mitchell but edgier
What a great prize, love music
I thought I’d let you know that the Facebook link to Christina’s Facebook page goes to the wrong Christina.
Thanks for the heads up! I fixed it 🙂
I haven’t heard of her until now. I’ve listened to several of her songs now. I really like that her voice is unique and mature sounding. The title track is very catchy. It’s amazing how much Canadian musical talent is out there!
It is very different than what I usually listen to but I like it, would have to listen to some of her other songs to get a full impression of her as an artist.
Not really my type of music, I would have to hear more than one song to determine if her voice is something I can listen to
I liked it , it has a nice county/folk sound
I like that her songs are catchy and they tell a story.
