3 Compelling Reasons Why Thermea Spa Reigns Supreme in #Winnipeg

It’s the weekend, you had a long week, and you need to relax. What is the first place other than your own home that comes to mind?

Thermea Spa is nestled in the southern part of Winnipeg, surrounded by nature and deserves the hashtag #RelaxationGoals whenever it’s discussed! It’s a thermal spa experience like no other.

I had the utmost pleasure of receiving a personal tour and subsequently publishing a detailed review of Thermea when they opened up for business earlier this year. Since that post, I have returned 3 times, twice with a group (both in “winter” temperatures) and once with just my fiance in late summer. They have added a few more aspects that complement the whole experience such as:

• outdoor hammocks and hammock chairs, loungers and resting areas.
• special events: Girls’ Getaway Tuesdays, Foodie Wednesdays and the recently announced New Year’s Eve event!

It’s unbelievable how something so simple, a 3 step process, can be so invigorating yet relaxing at the same time.

First you start with the HOT step, one of 3 saunas,

Then, you enter a COLD bath, yes, as in frigid! Shock your body!

Finally, you RELAX in either the hot tub, FLAM cabin (enclosed firepit with no roof), or Relaxa chalet.

The first few times we didn’t set aside enough time to truly experience it all; however, on my most recent group visit, we stayed for hours and went through the cycle WAY more than 3 times. I sat in that fire-pit area and watched the stars in the sky while holding hands with the love of my life. A shooting star made an appearance at that very moment and I was in total bliss!

It’s so great that Thermea accommodates groups. Last night there were 12 of us and we had a glorious time! The most difficult part of the experience is the silent policy. I’m so glad they will begin to have an evening event each month where there will be music and a little more leeway to talk above a whisper. Stay tuned for more details!

While we weren’t able to partake in the menu at the restaurant due to unforeseen circumstances, the evening was full of chill vibes and amazing company.

WHY CHOOSE THERMEA AS PART OF MY PERSONAL RELAXATION STRATEGY?

Well, I came up with 3 compelling reasons for you:

1. AFFORDABLE: For only $60 per person (Fri-Sun), you can have the full thermal experience including bathrobe rental from open to close, no time limit and no reservations required (except massage therapy).
2. APPEAL: Any and everyone will thoroughly enjoy this experience (age 16 and older). Relaxation does not discriminate! There is a wide range of diversity within Thermea’s demographics.

Introductions in the beginning for the group was great especially for the first-timers. It was a quaint and relaxing environment, you totally forget you are in the city. It was very accommodating for individuals couples and groups. The restaurant would have been great if it was open but stuff happens and either way it didn’t take away from the experience.
