Meal Time Made Easy with the Kenmore Pro Blender

I’m going to make soup in a blender.

Soup made IN A BLENDER?

Whaaa?!?

I know, I know, skepticism and ignorance play a small role here. Every soup I’ve ever made has been in a big ole pot!

I have never ever made soup with a blender until now…

With this:

Say hello to the Kenmore Pro Professional Blender. Isn’t she pretty? Apparently I’ve been taking the long way around to make soup! Haha

I rarely use a blender on a good day never mind a heavy duty professional blender. I’ve always heard about the cost of them before I heard of what they can do. Luckily, this exclusive new blender is similar to its competitors but the difference is it’s affordable! Way to go Sears Canada!

When I opened up the box and saw the recipe book, at first I was in shock and then I was in awe!

You can make sauces, desserts (ice cream) and even nut milk! My next adventure will be to make my own cashew milk.

Anyhoo, I couldn’t wait to see if this blender could actually make a soup that was warm and ready to eat.

I always try to use ingredients that are already in the house whenever I try a new recipe (not only for the convenience but also just in case i mess it up)!

So I decided to make Avocado Corn & Potato soup!

The process is simple and so quick. Throw in all of the ingredients and press the button!

I made a lil video of the process, take a look!

And here’s the finished product:

Ok, so I definitely used too many potatoes and not enough avocado but I was very happy with the texture. I know what to do now!

My thoughts on the blender itself:

What could use some work?

a) noise level: Although I’m not sure how you can improve upon that, it’s quite loud

What I love most?

a) Power: I couldn’t believe how pressing the Pulse button for a few seconds instantly pulverized the hard potatoes. I can see how it would be great for juicing and sauces as well.

b) Heating Function: For soups, you can pour directly into the bowl!

  1. The first delicious item I would make with the Kenmore Pro blender is Curry Pumpkin soup. We finally have snow so it would be a great meal to warm up with. I would be grateful to win a Kenmore Pro blender!

  2. Weare big smoothie lovers here too and this would be so amazing and would probably be the first thing I make. Not to mention my oldest (14) hates veggies so hiding them in soups, stews, sauces would be SO much easier with this!

  3. The first thing I’d make would be carrot & coriander soup. I used to buy the Baxters version when I lived in the UK, but you can’t get it for love nor money in northern Ontario :0

  4. The first thing I would make would be a fruit smoothie!! then i would venture out to make something else like soup.. I have never made homemade soup before.

  5. I’m working on a new hummus recipe. Currently using a food chopper which is less than ideal so would love to give this new blender a ‘whirl’! Thanks for the opportunity!

  6. I ordered this product online during boxing day which sells for $99. I don’t really need the blender for now but it was a good price so I went ahead and purchased it online anyway. Seven days later, I did not receive any product so I decided to call their customer service line. The service representative told me that they don’t carry the product anymore but yet, they still offer this online. Shame on you for tricking people. That is the reason you closed most of your stores. I will never ever buy or believe in what you offer from this time on. Sears is a crap.

  7. We make a green rice and the ingredients that make it green (spinach, jalapeno, cilantro) need to be blended first.

  8. If I win, the first delicious item you would make with the Kenmore Pro blender would be a mango daiquiri! MMMM I love MANGO!!! My blender broke over a year ago and I have been trying to be smart with my money, not spending if I don’t have to, thinking to myself: do I really need another appliance? — yes yes yes!! the answer is yes when it comes to a blender, WTF was I thinking?!?! I need a blender, this would be like a gift from Santa.. Want to be my Santa this year??!! I would LOVE LOVE LOVE that, and I make a mean Mango Daiquiri.. I’d make one for you too ‘Santa’ aka.PCL !!!

  9. I would make soup! My sister has a blender that makes soup and I want one so bad!

I was getting a duplicate comment message, not sure if my phone is acting up!

  10. I would definitely try this soup recipe – all my favourite things, looks delicious!! Bookmarking this for sure! But the first thing I would probably make is a fruit smoothie with lots of berries, yogurt etc. I’d love to replace my morning coffee with a morning smoothie!

  11. Wow what a beauty. Grandkids always asking for smoothies etc., but grandma doesn’t have a blender. The soup idea is an awesome idea too!
