Friends! Let’s talk about those airplane moments that have us all looking at each other like… ‘is this really happening? Recently, I shared a short video about some things I’ve noticed while flying (watch below!). It got me thinking about how many of us experience these moments, and I thought it would be fun to chat more about it here.
Whether you’re a frequent flyer or occasional traveler, these situations might seem familiar.
Here are some observations from my recent flights:
- The Great Boarding Rush
I always laugh a little when I see everyone jumping up to be first in line. Like, where are we going? The plane’s not leaving without us! There’s something so entertaining about watching people race to hurry up and… wait in their seats. - The Symphony of Sounds
Ah, the concert of uncovered coughs and sneezes. We’re all sharing this space together, folks! It’s those moments when you catch eyes with another passenger and you both just know what the other is thinking. I always pack my hand sanitizer, Lysols wipes and a mask, cuz you just never know! - The Invisible Cloud
Between mysterious aromas and the passenger who bathed in cologne or perfume, every flight is an adventure for your nose! It’s amazing how creative we get with breathing techniques in these moments eh?
Make Your Flight More Comfortable: Practical Tips:
Boarding Time Tips:
- Check your airline app for real-time boarding updates
- Choose seats near the back for a calmer boarding experience
- Arrive at your gate early but wait to line up – you’ll board when your zone is called!
Staying Healthy in the Air:
- Pack travel-sized hand sanitizer and wipes
- Bring a lightweight scarf or blanket – it can double as a face covering if needed
- Consider wearing a mask during cold/flu season
- Stay hydrated – bring an empty water bottle to fill after security, drink a cup of water every hour
Creating Your Comfort Zone:
- Choose unscented toiletries for your carry-on
- Pack mints or gum to freshen your own air space
- Download meditation apps or podcasts to stay zen during busy flights
