Stay Clean and Germ-Free with Lysol Power & Free {Giveaway}

PegCity born & raised, lifestyle blogger, and positivity enthusiast. I'm here to share about life – from hidden gems to healthy habits and build a community of authenticity.

I'm Natalie!

It seems to have been a great year for viruses and germs.   It’s even worse when you have the odds stacked against you: our household has two germy teenaged girls, one germy baby boy in daycare and of course mommy and daddy whose coworkers don’t always stay home with their germy selves.

So what’s a family like ours to do? Well, I consider myself to be a supreme germ killer and the two items below have been my go-to germ killin’ disinfectin’ tools for as long as I can remember!

Yep, my lemon scented Lysol All-Purpose Cleaner and a spray bottle of diluted bleach with water.  These two have been my ultimate cleaning duo for all of the rooms in our house.   As you know, bleach not only has a harsh smell but is a pretty powerful chemical that requires protection for your hands.

The new Lysol Power & Free products offer the same germ killing strength without the harshness of bleach and no need for gloves. I just had to try these products out so you can imagine my excitement when I was contacted by Lysol to review them!

The new Lysol Power & Free lineup

The new Lysol Power & Free lineup

Lysol has done it again with great group of products to fit the needs of any household.

Kitchen

The best place to start with the Lysol Power & Free Multi-Purpose Cleaner is in the kitchen.   The kitchen has a lot of potential to be the biggest culprit for germ spreading.  In our open concept home,  the kitchen is the first place everyone goes to after work or school.  From the cupboard handles to the fridge, to the microwave, from the counter-tops to the pantry to the dishwasher, all of the surfaces in the kitchen have the potential to be germ/bacteria heaven.   The one thing I noticed about the Power & Free products vs the original All Purpose cleaner is the smell.  It’s not strong in  a way that is overbearing  but it truly gives that sense of clean when you’ve used it, it’s not as harsh.  There are two scents for the Multi-Purpose cleaner: Citrus Sparkle Zest and Oxygen Splash.  My personal fave is the citrus scent, most likely due to childhood memories of mom’s cleaning habits.

Bathroom(s)

We have 4 bathrooms in this house and it’s my least favorite household chore.  The new Power & Free Toilet & Bathroom Wipes definitely make it easier for my teenaged daughters to clean their bathrooms (when they do it of course).   The Bathroom cleaner proved to be quite powerful when I sprayed our sink and left it to disinfect.  All it needed was a very quick wipe with a cloth as the spray dissolved any dirt.  Both products have a truly refreshing scent.

Out of all of these products the only one I haven’t tried is the Toilet Bowl Cleaner and that’s only because we don’t have an actual toilet bowl brush in the house (we currently use a disposable system).

Areas of Opportunity?

From a results perspective  I feel very confident that these products do what Lysol says they do, and it’s the reason I’ve been a long time consumer of their products.  However, I do feel that the product design could use some improvement.   The spray bottles are bulky, not sure how best to get away from that though.  The mechanism to pull out bathroom wipes needs some improvement as I was constantly grabbing multiple wipes at a time instead of just the one I needed.  Small requests that don’t infringe on the actual use of the product.

Overall, Lysol is very committed to the health of Canadians whether it’s in our homes, schools or businesses.  The Lysol website has a wealth of tips and articles outlining how to move towards a healthy home and family.  Give them a Like on Facebook for even more tips, savings,  and contests!
