30 years of Dot-Com An #Interview With @BillRancic #InternetOfficial

PegCity born & raised, lifestyle blogger, and positivity enthusiast. I'm here to share about life – from hidden gems to healthy habits and build a community of authenticity.

I'm Natalie!

It’s not every day I get the opportunity to interview a celebrity, but thanks to the wonders of the internet, an opportunity presented itself and I am honoured to have accepted it! The internet can be an amazing place to enhance your presence and make valuable connections.

It’s quite appropriate that the internet is the primary topic of this interview. Internet domains to be specific.

It’s hard to believe, but .com is all grown up. The domain we all know and love turns 30 this year. With roughly 116.5 million domains ending in “.com” – the most of any domain and more than all of the 25 next largest registries combined – .com’s dominance is unquestionable. During the past 30 years, the Amazon isn’t just the world’s largest river, tweeting isn’t just for the birds and “yahoo” means more than impending excitement.

To celebrate this monumental milestone of the World Wide Web’s most recognized domain-and all the brilliant, online businesses that have flourished because of it, Verisign, the global leader in domain names and internet security, is helping the next generation of entrepreneurs get their business ideas off the ground with a chance to win up to $35,000 by sharing their best and brightest .com name.

I chatted with Bill Rancic, Season One winner of “The Apprentice” about the 30 year anniversary of .com and his role as one of four expert judges determining the winner of the Verisign contest.

Bill speaks to businesses and organizations around the world on motivational and business topics, and developing real estate in Chicago. Bill makes regular appearances on numerous daytime broadcast and cable television programs, and in many major national, regional and local print outlets to inform people about business and entrepreneurship. He’s also a published author of a New York Times best-selling book, You’re Hired: How To Succeed In Business And Life. This book chronicles Bill’s successful life, and experiences.

And yes, I really, really interviewed him! AHHHH! Please check it out here:

Registering a creative, memorable and keyword-rich .com domain name through one of Verisign’s registrars and entering it in the #InternetOfficial contest by April 30, 2015 could land a budding entrepreneur $35,000. Five monthly finalists (15 finalists in 3 months!), will each receive $5,000 and the opportunity to compete for the grand prize of $30,000.

Til next time!
