Timeraiser150 Winnipeg – Pay For Art By Paying It Forward

Guest Post by my awesome friend Kristin Marand. Kristin is a maven – she’s amazing with words and loves the Peg almost as much as I do!

Bid Time. Do Good. Get Art.

That’s the idea behind a signature Canada150 event coming to the Graffiti Gallery on Thursday June 15th, one of ten Timeraiser parties happening across the country. Pay for art by paying it forward.

The Winnipeg event has assembled 20 pieces of incredible art from a diverse lineup of local artists. Including two that will be created right before your eyes! On June 15th, you can win one of these artworks by pledging volunteer time at any registered not-for-profit. Volunteers bid their time in 10 hour increments to a maximum of 150 hours and have one year to complete their volunteerism. This year, as part of the Canada150 celebrations, Timeraiser’s goal is to raise 150, 000 hours across the nation.

Not sure who to volunteer for? Meet organizations looking for volunteers at the event and find out what they’re all about. Timeraiser Winnipeg will feature 12 local non-profits for a variety of sectors, seeking volunteers.

It’s a win-win-win: the artists are paid for their work. Non-profits find skilled volunteers and Canadians find meaningful volunteer opportunities.

Doing good feels good, so we’re celebrating! Join us for the party. Art viewing will take place from 7-8 pm then we’ll have live performances by Chuck Copenace Group, Jamil the DJ and GeNie Baffoe. Bidding will take place from 8:30-9:30 with the winners announced at 10pm.

Enjoy the entertainment accompanied by some delicious local delights from Tallest Poppy, Bronuts, Fools and Horses and Little Brown Jug Brewing Co.

So, are you in or are you in?

If you can’t make it to the event but would like to bid your time, watch for the launch of Online150 this summer. You can also help Timeraiser reach it’s 150, 000 hour goal by registering your volunteer hours with them.
