Do a Little #SocialGood with the #TreatsForToys Program

It’s super important for my children to recognize the importance of the holiday season not only for its meaning but alsoย to realize how blessed and fortunate they are to receive gifts every year.

I love that the folks at Rice Krispies are committed to making sure that every child receives a gift this year with their #TreatsForToys program!

For every original photo of a treat, which is posted to your Facebook, Twitter or Instagram account between Oct. 1/14 – Dec. 21/14 including the hashtag #treatsfortoys in the post, Kellogg will donate $20.00 to The Salvation Army (up to $30,000), which will be used to buy toys for children across Canada.

How hard could it be? We make Rice Krispy treats all the time, but to try and sculpt a toy, well that proved to be aย little difficult haha! I think I’ll stick to singing?

Alright, so I won’t be winning any art awards any time soon, but my childrenย and I had a blast making these. It’s even more gratifying to know that 3 children will receive toys from my 3 children thanksย to their imagination, time and effort.

I’ve done the math – a maximum of $30,000 will be donated at $20 per treat, so that equals (potentially) 1,500 children getting toys this Christmas!

I took a quick look at the Rice Krispies gallery and I think we have a ways to go folks, less than 100ย so far!

My family and I will definitely be making more treats to contribute to this great program but we can’t do it alone.

Make those treats! Help those kids! Have that fun!

I look forward to seeing your creations (let’s just hope mine get better)!
